The Oceans of Change Early Career Scientists Conference (ECSC) is open for abstract submission.
ECSC will broadly address the interactions among the physics, chemistry, and biology of the world’s oceans in the context of a dynamic system.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of human activities on ocean processes, the future of ecological and economic ocean services, and management implications.
Contributions should address one of the sessions displayed on the conference website:

Statement by the NEAFC Secretariat to the Third Meeting of the Ad-hoc Open-ended Informal Working Group to study issues relating to the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity beyond areas of national jurisdiction
Applications are invited for the post of Head of Advisory Services of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). The post, which will become vacant in 2010, is based at the Council’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. ICES, the world’s oldest intergovernmental scientific organisation, promotes and co‐ordinates marine research on marine ecosystems including living marine resources, publishes the results of this research, and provides science based advisory services for the management of human activities that impact marine ecosystems.
